Pet Health Certificates for Travel

Traveling out of state or out of the country with your furry friend? We have USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) certified veterinarians available to write health certificates and make sure your pet is in compliance with your destination’s travel requirements. During a consult for a health certificate, your pet will get a physical exam and we will review their records to make sure they are up to date on required vaccines, then fill out the appropriate paperwork for you.

Domestic health certificate requirements vary by state. You should contact the state to which you are traveling to ensure you have the proper documentation before you leave. If you are flying, you should also check with the airline for any required travel documents. Most health certificates for inter-state travel (within the continental US) are valid for 10 days after they are issued.

International health certificates must be completed by a USDA certified Veterinarian, and need to be sent to the USDA for approval. Because these certificates require much more documentation as well as specifically timed vaccinations and testing, there is a longer turn-around time for completion. Please contact us about your travel plans as soon as possible to make sure you get all necessary appointments at the appropriate times.

Please also let us know if your pet gets anxious or nauseous when traveling so we can discuss ways to make it a more comfortable journey for everyone.
