Based on the most recent guideline updates from the CDC and the state of Massachusetts, we are, effective immediately, moving forward with our Covid updated protocol, keeping in mind we are a medical facility and governed by those guidelines. Going forward, clients will be permitted to enter the building on a limited basis in comparison to pre-Covid protocols and ONLY for appointments involving a consult with a doctor. Noted below are the updated protocols for our practice.
As a practicing medical facility, ALL staff will continue to be masked at all times in the work areas. ALL clients entering the building MUST be masked – no exceptions. For any given appointment a maximum of TWO clients are allowed to attend the in-room examination.
For all appointments involving a doctor, the process is revised to wherein you as a client continue to call in to announce your arrival, and while still in the parking lot, one of our techs will obtains case history for that appointment. When the doctor is ready for the appointment, you will be informed that you can now enter the clinic while masked, accompanied by your pet(s), and proceed through the specified door to the designated room. As a client, you can still opt to remain in your car for the duration of the appointment
The doctor' examination will be held in your presence, treatment(s) discussed, agreed upon and performed. Any medicine and/or preventative needs are defined and invoiced, and you will be checked out while still in the room by the tech. You must remain in the room until advised by the tech when you can leave the building and by which exit.
For all surgery/dental/ultrasound intakes, the process will remain unchanged from current protocol, wherein you call in, the tech takes case history, then goes to the parking lot and brings your pet inside. For patient pick up later in the day, in that the doctor will have called you earlier, you will call in to the front desk on arrival at the parking lot, the tech answers any questions, covers any patient instructions, obtains payment, and brings your patient to you in the parking lot.
For all tech appointments, the process will remain unchanged from current protocol, wherein you call in, the tech takes case history then goes to the parking lot and brings the patient inside, medical needs are performed, you are called back for payment, and your pet is returned to you by the tech.
For all pre-ordered prescriptions, preventatives and food pickups, the process will remain unchanged from current protocol, wherein you call in on arrival, notify us of your need(s), makes payment, and then have your request(s) delivered to you in the parking lot.
The doctors and staff appreciate your patience and understanding on the challenges Covid has brought to not only our clinic, but to all the veterinary practices in the Greater Worcester area, and look forward to a gradual return to whatever the new "norm" may bring us.
